Every day we encounter almost 85,000 thoughts in our mind, most of them are negative. For an example, we are working on a big project, we are working online, and suddenly I started thinking “what if the internet connection doesn’t work”? or what if suddenly we face load shedding”?, and to my horror I see that the internet has stopped working!! Then I start blaming myself about my negative thinking process and that lead me to thinking more and more negative thinking.
Now we have been told to stay positive, think positive, be positive, but in the 24 hours of the day, we come across so many situations that it is impossible to stay positive all the time. We are driving our car and it’s very natural that at the back of the mind we tend to think, what if there is tire puncture, or we met with accidents. Even our habits or actions become like that. We wear helmet while riding bike, which is a positive thing but it comes from the fact, which is negative that is the fear of accident, or death so to speak. In order to save ourselves from any unwanted accident and to save our precious brain, we wear helmet. So we actually are wired to the negative thoughts automatically and we can do nothing about that. But it is not a good practice to live under negativity for over a long period of time, or we constantly thinking of negative things only overlooking the positive side.
We wear helmet to protect ourselves if there is an accident and period. But if we constantly thinking that “even wearing helmet doesn’t guarantee saving life, even after wearing helmet I can get hurt badly”, and thinking all these while riding a bike is a complete negative thinking that we need to break immediately.
Re wiring negative thoughts into positive ones is not an easy job but it is possible for sure. There is this wonderful tool available named NLP practice and with this beautiful tool we can re wire our negative thoughts into positive ones.
