What is emotionally unintelligent? Gossiping behind the back, backstabbing, accusing, judging a person, interactions resulting in arguments often based on putting someone down in order to put self up are ego-centric and emotionally unintelligent. Emotionally unintelligent behaviors are basically unreflected reactions, most of which initiated by the limbic brain. Loud charged back and forth arguments, heated negative reaction, striking arguments and lights, coming from any attitude of being better or more are in general the behaviors that leaders today cannot dare to show anymore.
Organizations grow when their people are united and together behind them. Working atmospheres have to be friendly for new hires to even want to join and team members feedback to enjoy meetings and interacting with their boss are highly rated. In my opinion a leader today cannot just give direct instructions without reason or act in any way dominantly or authoritatively anymore. Those times are over.
Watch leader climbing the ladder of success. You will find them personable, friendly, approachable and often with a charming smile. They are interested in the people around them, they talk to their team with a caring attitude and they focus on including everyone. They have to focus on getting the highest score in their 360-degree feedback.
Emotionally Intelligent Leaders maybe be requested by their job requirement to have completed a self-development, conflict resolution and/or communication workshop. The word “Emotional Intelligence” is on that list in more and more organization. Those leaders thrive of receiving feedback and are committed to being the best they can be for their people. They will jump on an emotional intelligence workshop as he wishes to learn more in his pursue of bringing his true leadership potential into fruition. They are grateful for themselves how much they have learned for their personal growth as well.
It is rejuvenating to distinguish the emotions that throw fire into a team or relationships and learn how to step back and build observance. He may consciously display them in an integrative fashion being able to talk about those emotions and so allow his team members to do so as well.

He knows how to speak with non- judgmental awareness showing and eliciting trust and furthering laughter, joy and happiness. He understand this as his job and his responsibility.
